This is Walt Requejo, that crazy missionary that was sent out by Reality Carpinteria way back in February of 2007, still serving the Lord faithfully with my wife Maribel here in Ensenada, Mexico, until He comes back to take us to the Promised Land . . . Lord come quickly.

TRUE TESTIMONY . . .

The above photo is the building my wife and I have been praying about as I venture out tomorrow to 'iron' out a rental agreement with our new landlord for this place, if the Lord is willing. It will be the home of H.E.L.P. ministry in Zorrillo, and what God has already placed in our hearts, to continue to serve the community with bible studies for our Jr. High and very soon elementary kids - we already have a wonderful location for our bibles studies in Durango, and we know that the Lord would have us take this step in faith to secure a home base for the kids of Zorrillo, both for bible studies and to also begin offering tutoring for all the kids, both jr. high and elementary.

Please keep us in prayer, that the Lord would give us favor with the landlord tomorrow, to use the facility to honor and glorify God, and to serve this amazing community the Lord has placed us in.

As we proceed with our new endeavor (our own ministry) the Lord has been directing us to continue as we always have - we are to encourage (1Thess5:11), provide hope (H.E.L.P., the name of our ministry), and continue to bless people (Gal6:10) in whatever manner God provides.

I will be posting during the next few days more updates on what has been going on here south of the border.

Father of the Bride . . .

A couple months back I got an email from my daughter Allison mentioning some guy wanted to 'talk' to me . . . ha! ha! Jim finally had the guts to ask for my daughter's hand in marriage just this last month -- to which I replied yes!
I am so excited to take a trip back to Okinawa, Japan, for the wedding ceremony. The island is absolutely beautiful, and the weather is warm during November. Please pray for a safe trip, that all goes well there, and that the Lord's hand be upon this wedding, my daughter, Jim, and all that the Lord has planned for them. Praise Him.

PLEASE TAKE PART IN OUR MINISTRY

My wife and I, along with the wonderful assistance from Genesis Diez, have officially launched our very own ministry as of the 24th of September, H.E.L.P. (see our blog entry), and one that has been in the development stage since I returned to Mexico in May of 2012.

These last three years have truly been a walk of faith for us, and we know that God has wonderful plans as He lays out before us exactly how the ministry will develop and be used to glorify Him.

Curently we are bible study leaders in the small communities of Zorrillo and Durango just miles south of Ensenada, and we know that the Lord would have us continue in this same manner as part of the ministry. Please pray for us as we search for a facility to use in the Zorrillo area - currently we meet in homes, something that the Lord laid on our hearts over a year ago when the bible studies began.

We will also continue to be a liason for groups that would like to come down and join us in ministry, whether it be a group of two, or twenty people.

The desire that the Lord has laid on my heart ever since He gave me that acronym (H.E.L.P.) back in 2012 is to reach out to other ministries in the area as well as the kids we work with and provide their most basic needs - food, clothing, medical care, errands, whatever the necessity might be, and be available for them. This part of the ministry will be done and facilitated thru ministry giving.

Genesis Diez will continue to receive your generous support (tax deductible) for us as our ministry develops. Truly they have blessed us in more ways than we can imagine. We also still have full access to the Genesis Diez facilities, equipment, and anything else needed to have a successful ministry.

ABOUT ME - CHACHOLIBRE AKA WALT FROM REALITY CHURCH

I was born in Carpinteria, originally on 9th St, then moved to Plum St. As a child I played in the old lemon factory, hoping some day to work there. Reality now stands in that same spot where the factory burned down. Praise Him!

Back in 89' the Lord called me into the radio ministry, and I began producing a gospel hip hop show called "The Power of R.A.P." (Rhythmic Anointed Poetry) on 105.5 KAVC in the Antelope Valley. When I moved to Carpinteria in 94', the Lord opened the doors at 91.9 KCSB-FM in Santa Barbara, and later the name of the show was switched to RealityHipHop, which finally left the airwaves in the summer of 2010.

In January of 2006', sitting on a hill in Israel overlooking the Valley of Megiddo (Armageddon), I began praying with a friend and the Lord made it very clear - it's time to go to Mexico and serve Him. At my first missions meeting at Reality the Lord pointed me in the direction of Ensenada, and the very first place I visited in Feb of 06' was Calvary Horizons in Ensenada - the second was Casa Esperanza, and the third I kept hearing about, was this tiny community called, "El Zorrillo."

By the Lord's sovereign grace and mercy, my wife and I are currently (over a year now) bible study leaders/coordinators in the communities of Zorrillo and Durango, with the amazing assistance from Genesis Diez.

HOW I GOT HERE . . .

I arrived in Ensenada, Mexico, on 3/11/07, hoping to complete a 6-month stint in the missionary field , then return to Carpinteria. God had other plans!

A week later the Lord showed me that I was here for a 'season'.

I originally started working for Calvary Horizons in Ensenada at the bible college until October of 07', when the Lord 'moved' me over to La Casa de Esperanza.

God then placed me in May of 2012 in the small community of Zorrillo thru the Lantern Hill ministry, when finally in September of 2014 God called me and my wife to do what we had always dreamed of doing, teaching and preaching the gospel alongside Genesis Diez, one of the more respected ministries in Baja California.

All glory and honor and praise to the Most High God!
